My name is Antonia Rodriguez and I am a writer. I graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Arts in Professional Writing.
I grew up in the Central Texas area but love to travel. I spent 2019-2021 in Seoul, South Korea teaching English to elementary school children. When I returned to the States in June 2021, I worked for a local school as a paraprofessional.
After working with students state-side, I transitioned into working at a local grocery store – a place I’d worked almost 7 years prior in a different department. With the same manager I’d worked with then, I have quickly risen through the ranks from Curbie to Specialist in under 2 years. In my current role, I assist in running the department, making sure grocery orders are being taken out to customers correctly, and training new shoppers to be both efficient and accurate. However, I felt that I wasn’t utilizing my greatest gift – writing.
Since October 2023, I have been in a contractor role with the local hospital responsible for their internal communications via the marketing department. With this role, I have been allowed to stretch my brain in the creative way I have been looking for. Communicating between different departments, organizing information in efficient ways, and designing readable and easy-to-scan deliverables have become an important pillar in what I do.
Aside from writing, I also enjoy watching sports, exploring local areas, traveling to new places, going to concerts or wrestling events, and meeting new people from different backgrounds.
